I established Good Clean Fun Ventures in early 2010 with a mission to bring to market businesses with great management teams, innovative products or services, large market opportunities and solid business models.

My initial venture was, an online retailer of mobile phones and wireless plans that helped customers compare offerings from the major US carriers and then select the plan that worked best for them and their family. I was ultimately unable to find a sustainable revenue model after pursuing both direct-to-consumer and enterprise sales initiatives, and shuttered the operation in 2011. What remains is a powerful and flexible optimization engine that I plan to dust off again one of these days.

The business has been largely dormant since mid-2011, as I have been working full-time since then as Senior Investment Director at the CIT GAP Funds, a family of seed- and early-stage technology investment funds based in Northern Virginia.

I recently decided to use this site (and specifically the blog within it) to chronicle my journey as I fight neck cancer. I am so grateful to all of my family and friends who surround me with love and support every day - thank you!

I would love to hear from friends old and new: smallon at gmail dot com
